Meditation - what is that anyway?
Many people see the term "meditation" as the image of the meditating Buddha. It is often assumed that meditation is a relaxation technique or a religious practice. But this is wrong! Meditation offers us much more and is free of religious background. Whoever engages in meditation expects a multitude of possibilities for their own growth.

In this course you will learn the basics of meditation and how to integrate it into your everyday life. You will also learn different breathing techniques, sitting positions and finger positions (mudras). The specially created dream journeys round off this course.

The course is suitable for both beginners and advanced students.

Mindfulness and meditation for children

Mindfulness and meditation are two of the most important topics in order to counteract stress and excessive demands at an early stage. Mindfulness training and so-called insight meditation are now also being implemented in many schools and the results are meaningful. Thus, sanctions and punishments decreased, the children generally became calmer and their concentration increased. And these are just some of the benefits that mindfulness training and meditation bring.

In this course, your child will learn the basic knowledge of meditation and mindfulness training in a playful way. OM the frog takes the children on his journey around the world and shows them how they can breathe more calmly, sit still more easily, concentrate better and get to know themselves and their environment from a different side.

how thoughts guide our lives
We are what we think. Everything that we are arises from our thoughts. With our thoughts we shape the world.

Our thoughts are a subject that we should be more concerned with, especially in this day and age. For years, health insurance companies have been recording an increasing trend of mental illness and depression. Good results can often be achieved through therapy, but in many cases, one's own basic attitude and cognition (thinking) also play an important role in getting out of the well-known "thought carousel" and returning to joy of life and self-assurance.

Experience the influence of thoughts on us and our lives in this 90-minute lecture. Using many examples and graphics, you will gain insight into the types of thoughts that exist, how cognitive processes function and what effect they can have on body and mind. In addition, you will learn tips suitable for everyday life on how to easily achieve a positive basic attitude, how to reverse so-called thought constructs and how to prevent mental moods and depression.

Discover the world of meditation in this 3-hour intensive workshop. In addition to various breathing exercises, sitting positions and hand postures, you will get to know the three basic types of meditation - mindfulness, concentration and stillness meditation. In addition, you will learn about the theoretical knowledge and the practical exercises and how to integrate them into your daily life. A guided dream journey rounds off the workshop. Including participation certificate.

Anyone surfing the Internet inevitably comes across the term data protection time and again. Especially in the Social Web as well as on facebook, this topic plays an important role, because many people unintentionally disclose personal things that can easily be seen by third parties. But how do we protect our data properly? On facebook there are a number of ways to protect your account and personal data. As a layman, however, you are very quickly faced with a major challenge.

In this 90 minute presentation you will learn about the possibilities facebook offers us to protect personal data and how to implement them easily. In addition to the topics of privacy, settings for visibility and notifications as well as account functions, we will use many case studies to explain how you can, for example, create different contact lists and prevent everyone from seeing your private photos and posts. Through the parallel demonstration via beamer, you can see where the setting options are located, what they mean and can make changes directly on your smartphone or tablet (prerequisite: own facebook account as well as mobile internet connection).

How about a little relaxation in the morning?
In the course of the same name we will deal with different relaxation techniques such as autogenic training, progressive muscle relaxation according to Jacobsen, breathing training and mindfulness training. In addition, singing bowls and dream journeys provide a moment of peace and balance.

Beltaine

experience the Walpurgis Night according to old Celtic tradition

Citizens' Garden

Note: Dress code, if possible cheerfully coloured.

On the evening of April 30th, the Celts celebrated the joyful festival of Beltaine, in accordance with an old tradition, to welcome back the summer and the bright season. Dressed in colourful costumes they played music and danced and lit glowing fires. The so-called witch fires of Walpurgis Night (the night from 30 April to 1 May) can still be found in many regions of Germany today.

Celebrate with us this year once into May according to Celtic tradition. We will toast with an alcohol-free welcome drink and symbolically light a glowing May fire (LED for fire protection reasons). We will also listen to stories and legends and learn exciting information about the Beltaine Festival. Of course, the joint dance around the fire is not to be missed. The cosy garden of the community centre offers us a wonderful atmosphere in the open air.

A very special evening on the subject of meditation is offered by the Summer Night Meditation. In a dreamlike atmosphere in the garden of the Bürgerhaus Heddesheim we will go into meditation together and let the everyday life rest for a moment. Accompany me on a journey into your imagination and let yourself be enchanted by scents, sounds and light effects.
Welcome drink included.

Native wild herbs

Note: Please wear sturdy shoes, enough to drink, sun/rain protection, as well as small scissors, gardening gloves and packing material (old newspapers and fabric bags are best) for the herbs.

An old proverb says: "There is a herb for every illness and suffering" - and this saying is not by chance!

In our modern times, in which cities grow faster and faster and natural herb meadows become rarer and rarer, only the very fewest know about the benefits and use of native wild and medicinal herbs. But on meadows and fields a true paradise can be found for the expert. And the range of applications is extensive. From teas and infusions, tinctures and ointments, smoking mixtures to fresh salads and smoothies - there is something for every taste from the herbs you collect yourself. In addition, many of the ingredients support a healthy lifestyle and promote general well-being.

During this 3-hour excursion, we explore the meadows and fields around the Heddesheim bathing lake together and get to know various wild herbs. You will also learn where we can find them, what we can use them for and what to pay attention to during harvest, storage and processing.
